This guide provides step-by-step instructions to register your devices with our new Kolide-Okta integration, ensuring compliance with our security policies.

Enrolling your device with Kolide offers several benefits:

Proactive Issue Resolution: Kolide notifies you of potential security issues on your device, allowing quick action or help to seek.
Note: Please keep in mind that having Kolide installed on your computer is mandatory. You can check our security policies here.
Enrollment Steps
Please follow these steps carefully to register your device:
- Go to your Okta Dashboard: After login with your credentials, you will be prompted to set up Kolide to authenticate your device.
- Click “Set Up” and then click “Enroll”
- Kolide verification: You will be presented with a brief verification screen from Kolide identifying and assigning the device to your profile.
- Final Step: After the device association screen, you will be taken back to Okta, and will ask if you want to add another verification method. Here, just click “Continue”
Device Compliance

Review Compliance Checks: After successful authentication, Kolide will scan your device, searching for security settings or practices that are not active/implemented, such as - but not limited to - the following:
- Disk encryption.
- Antivirus/Anti-malware solution.
- Password protection and complexity.
- Screensaver.
- Browser extensions.
- Identify outdated software and systems.
- Check-in at least once every 20 days.

Identify outdated operational systems and software.

Address Any Issues: If Kolide identifies any non-compliance issues, It will show you a warning screen with the remaining time that you'll have to solve or fix them before getting locked out.

Click "Fix this issue" and it will give you instructions on how to configure your device.

Confirm Compliance: Once all issues are resolved, click "I've fixed it. Recheck Now" or "Recheck Device" and it will detect the change and allow you to access the resource you needed.

"I'll Fix this later - Continue to Sign in": If you select this option, Kolide will allow you to continue to the desired resource during a determined amount of time before it locks you out from accessing the company tools.
You will be presented with the warning screen each time Kolide detects the missing setting until it is fixed.
